Linus Ullmark receives huge love and appreciation from Bruin fans in return to Boston

Linus Ullmark was one of the top goaltenders in the NHL when he was a member of the Boston Bruins. In 2023, Ullmark won the Vezina Trophy after posting a 40-6-1 record with a 1.89 goals against average and .938 save percentage.

However, even with being one of the top goaltenders in the NHL, the Bruins traded Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators in June 2024. The trade sent shock waves around the entire NHL, but the Senators were eager to find a top goaltender after Joonas Korpisalo dissaponted in the 2023-24 season.

Tonight was the first time Ullmark returned to Boston as a Senator and would face off against his former goaltending partner Jeremy Swayman. Even after the trade was made, the two goaltenders continued to speak highly of one another and are close. The Bruins and their fans showed class and gave Ullmark a loud ovation for his three-year tenure in Boston.

Bruin fans give Ullmark much appreciated love in his return to Beantown

Ullmark was due to be overcome with emotion with returning to Boston tonight. The love and appreciation for Ullmark started in pregame warm-ups when he and Swayman hugged each other with all eyes on the two goaltenders. The fans inside TD Garden erupted with loud cheers when the two hugged and posed for a picture.

The love for Ullmark continued after the first commercial break in the first period with the game scoreless when the Bruins gave Ullmark and welcome back video. The Bruin fans rised to their feet and continued to show their love and support with loud cheers, and Ullmark gave the stick salute to the TD Garden crowd.

Ullmark may be wearing a Senators jersey, but the Bruin fans have shown nothing but love and appreciation for Ullmark even in a different jersey despite the Senators and Bruins being Atlantic Division foes.
