Los Angeles Rams Emerge as Suitor for Intriguing QB Move

The Los Angeles Rams saw veteran star quarterback Matthew Stafford take home the 2025 NFL MVP award. After a stellar career, he finally received the recognition he deserves as one of the best quarterbacks in football.

Heading into the 2026 season, the Rams are expected to have Stafford in place as their starter. However, the fact of the matter is that he isn’t getting any younger.

Stafford is now 38 years old. His NFL career is starting to wind down and Los Angeles currently doesn’t seem to have a plan in place to replace him.

Keeping that in mind, there are going to be some opportunities in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft to bring in a young signal caller. A new prediction would see the Rams bringing in a potential long-term replacement for Stafford.

Los Angeles Rams Emerge as Suitor for Intriguing Quarterback

Pro Football Network’s Ian Cummings has released a new seven-round mock draft. He has Los Angeles landing a steal in the form of Penn State signal caller Drew Allar in the sixth round.

Cummings specifically predicted the Rams to draft Allar with the No. 207 overall pick.

At one point not long ago, Allar was viewed as an up-and-coming star prospect. He looked the part of being a potential franchise quarterback at the NFL level.

Unfortunately, the 2025 season did not go as planned for Allar or the Nittany Lions. Allar went down with a season-ending injury and Penn State suffered through a bad season. That led to the firing of head coach James Franklin.

That being said, let’s take a look at a potential fit between Los Angeles and Allar.

What Would Drew Allar Bring to the Rams?

Allar played four years at Penn State. He finished his college career completing 63.2 percent of his career pass attempts for 7,402 yards, 61 touchdowns, and just 13 interceptions, while also running for 736 yards and 12 more scores.

Bleacher Report has unveiled an interesting comparison for Allar. They view him as a Daniel Jones type of quarterback with Joe Flacco’s arm talent.

While he has a chance to become a star at the next level, Bleacher Report also noted that he has a lot of work to do to become that kind of player.

“Drew Allar is a naturally gifted quarterback with a high upside and ceiling,” they wrote. “There remains a lot of development needed before he can effectively lead an NFL franchise to success.”

Only time will tell where Allar ends up in the 2026 draft and where he ends up starting his professional career. At least for now, the Rams are worth keeping a close eye on.
