With the Dallas Mavericks now trailing the Boston Celtics 3-0 in the NBA Finals, Luka Doncic once again took his frustration out on the officials.
Doncic was not happy about fouling out of the game with 4:12 remaining, with Dallas having fought so hard to erase a 21-point deficit.
“We couldn’t play physical,” he told reporters after the game. “I don’t want to say nothing, but six fouls in the NBA Finals? I’m like this (hands up). Come on, man. (Be) better than that.”
The Celtics had led 91-70 early in the fourth quarter, before Dallas answered with a 22-2 run to get within one point with three minutes to play.
But Doncic fouling out brought everything undone. Kyrie Irving scored 35 points but it still wasn’t enough to get the Mavericks over the line.
“We had a good chance,” Doncic said. “We were close. Just didn’t get it. I wish I was out there.”
The Mavericks will now attempt to become the first team in NBA history to win a series after trailing 3-0.
Only four teams have forced a Game 7 from such a position.
“It’s not over till it’s over,” Doncic said. “We just gotta believe.”
