Matt LaFleur says Derrick Henry 99-yard TD run against Jaguars was supposed to be a QB sneak

This was a fun little nugget that I came across on Twitter today. Apparently the 99-yard touchdown run back in 2018 where Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry stiff-armed the entire city of Jacksonville, twice, was supposed to be a quarterback sneak according to Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur (of course LaFleur was the offensive coordinator for the Titans in 2018):

First off, a huge thank you to Marcus Mariota for deciding to hand that ball of instead of going with the sneak. That is one of my favorite plays in the history of this franchise. Mike Keith’s call where he keeps yelling “STIFFARM” over and over might be my second favorite call behind “THERE ARE NO FLAGS ON THE FIELD. IT’S A MIRACLE!!”

The King had a knack for breaking the heart of the one fan the Jaguars actually have. Just last year he had his best game of the season in the finale against Jacksonville. He carried the ball 19 times for 153 yards and a touchdown. The loss resulted in the Jaguars missing the playoffs by one game. So sad!
