The Dallas Mavericks haven’t made many big moves this summer but they have reunited with a fan-favorite star from several seasons ago.
Spencer Dinwiddie is now officially returning to the Mavericks.
The news was shared by the team, per Brad Townsend on Twitter.
“Our guy is back,” the Mavericks stated on their social media account.
Will he be a pivotal role player for Dallas just like he was last time?

During his two seasons with the Mavericks, Dinwiddie averaged 17.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 4.9 assists.
That was a great time for his career but he wasn’t in Dallas for long, moving onto the Brooklyn Nets and then the Los Angeles Lakers.
He didn’t do as much with those two teams and when his tenure in Los Angeles came to an end, many fans thought he’d be heading back to Texas.
Sure enough, he is now on his way to Dallas and will be reunited with Luka Doncic, head coach Jason Kidd, and more.
The Mavericks just had one of their greatest seasons ever and went all the way to the NBA Finals.
They are eager to build on all the promise from last season and are hoping to be one of the best teams in the West in 2024-25.
Dinwiddie will bring a lot of skills, likely off the bench, and could be a clutch player again.
That is exactly the sort of star the Mavericks need and he may be a crucial part of any playoff run.
Some fans remarked that Dinwiddie didn’t fit with the Nets or Lakers.
Will he perform better now that he’s back in Dallas?
