Francisco Lindor has added at least one offseason award to his trophy case this year.
While the Mets shortstop awaits to see if he’s named the NL MVP, he was awarded the Silver Slugger award for his position on Tuesday. It’s Lindor’s second straight Silver Slugger award and the fourth of his career, also winning it in 2017 and 2018 with Cleveland.
The 30-year-old had an MVP-like season offensively for the Mets. He hit .273 with 33 home runs and drove in 91 runs. He also had a .344 on-base percentage and slugged .500. Lindor had a 137 wRC+ with a .382 expected weighted on-base average, per FanGraphs.
Lindor was the lone Met to win a Silver Slugger this season. Pete Alonso was also named a finalist but lost out to the Phillies’ Bryce Harper.
Alonso had a down year offensively in 2024. He hit .240 with a .329 OBP and .459 slugging percentage but smashed only 34 dingers, his lowest in a full season of his career.
