What Miguel Almiron actually wants if he is to leave Newcastle this summer

Miguel Almiron is in an interesting position at Newcastle United.

The forward was backed by former teammate Allan Saint-Maximin after receiving some criticism about rejecting a move away from Newcastle for Saudi Arabia.

With the club last week needing to raise money in order to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, selling Almiron would obviously have been a financial boost.

Still, Newcastle are reportedly struggling to move the forward on – while the player himself is understood to want to stay at St James’ Park.

It remains to be seen whether or not the 30-year-old eventually does leave, particularly now Paraguay are out of the Copa America.

That, in theory at least, should speed up his return to Tyneside and potentially talks over his future.

What Miguel Almiron wants to actually leave Newcastle this summer

Having already snubbed a move to Saudi, The Chronicle now share the latest on Almiron’s stance on leaving Newcastle.

He is believed to remain in talks with his agent about the next step of his career and Almiron is understood to still believe he can be a Premier League player.

If he is to go, only a suitable destination will reportedly be considered. It seems clear he will not be rushing to leave just because there’s an offer.

Newcastle’s valuation of Miguel Almiron is interesting

Ben Jacobs recently revealed that Newcastle were in fact looking for around £20m for the player’s services this summer.

Having paid a reported £21m to land him from Atlanta United in 2019, that would be quite the return on investment for a player into his thirties now.

Quite whether or not Newcastle are able to both find a suitable club for him and then get them to pay that kind of money remains to be seen but it would be fantastic business if possible.
