NBA Executives Have A Strong Belief About Warriors’ Plans With Jonathan Kuminga

Jonathan Kuminga has been trying to secure a big-money contract extension from the Golden State Warriors but he hasn’t been able to get the offer he wants.

And according to some NBA experts, he might not ever receive it.

John Hollinger and Sam Amick, via Legion Hoops, are reporting that “rival NBA executives believe the Warriors are ‘more willing than ever’ to trade Jonathan Kuminga.”

This could radically transform the Warriors, for a number of reasons.

Kumigna is averaging 11.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game so far this season, having started in three games and coming off the bench for two.

He has received great praise from head coach Steve Kerr, who applauded Kumigna’s ability to change his approach to the game in order to help his team.

One might think that Kuminga’s strong performances and willingness to change would help him gain the contract extension he seeks but it might do something else: raise his trade value.

Kuminga’s numbers and Kerr’s praise could make him a better asset for the Warriors if they do decide to move him.

It’s no secret that the Warriors are looking to improve their roster.

During the summer, they had their eyes on players like Paul George, Lauri Markkanen, and more.

They are clearly intrigued by the concept of adding another A-lister to the lineup and trading Kuminga could help them make that happen.

He could be part of a package deal that brings in the big-name talent the Warriors seek.

Last season, it seemed like the Warriors were very satisfied with Kuminga and envisioned him as a long-term part of the lineup but it now sounds like his time with Golden State could be coming to an end.
