Newcastle United have added another Premier League prospect to their Academy, with West Ham’s Ezra Tika-Lemba becoming the latest addition to our youth ranks.
The winger is one of several additions to arrive over the past few weeks, as we’ve also seen fellow 16-year-olds Aaron Epia (Everton) and Kayden Lucas (Clevedon Town) sign scholarship deals on Tyneside along with talented midfielder CJ Afumuzor (Portsmouth).
Another teenage sensation all set to sign is Rory Finneran. As we revealed back in May, Newcastle have been confident of beating a host of Bundesliga sides to the Blackburn midfielder and we’ve now won the race after reaching an agreement.
The 16-year-old Irish youth international became Rovers’ youngest-ever player to feature in a first-team game earlier this year following an FA Cup cameo and he will join our U18 ranks ahead of the 2024/25 season.
The club are already building an Irish contingent across the Academy, with Finneran following post-takeover moves for Alex Murphy – now training with the first-team, Reece Byrne and Cathal Heffernan; the talented centre-back who signed from AC Milan last year.
