Nottingham Forest boss Nuno names team to face Chelsea with two changes to starting XI

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has named his Nottingham Forest team to face Chelsea in this afternoon’s clash.

The Reds go into the match at Stamford Bridge looking to bounce back from last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Fulham. Raul Jimenez’s penalty brought an end to Forest’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season, although the hosts were furious that two spot-kick shouts of their own were not given.

Nuno’s team selection and tactics against the Cottagers came in for some criticism. Missing the suspended Morgan Gibbs-White, the Reds boss opted to go with an old-fashioned 4-4-2 formation at the City Ground.

There is no repeat of that plan this time out. Nuno has made two changes to his starting XI from last weekend with Gibbs-White and Callum Hudson-Odoi in for Nicolas Dominguez and Taiwo Awoniyi.

In what could be a 4-3-3 formation, the back line of Ola Aina, Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo and Alex Moreno keep their places ahead of goalkeeper Matz Sels. If it is three in midfield, Ryan Yates, James Ward-Prowse and Elliot Anderson will be tasked with trying to thwart Chelsea’s attacking threat in the centre of the pitch.

Hudson-Odoi will face his former club and will start on the left, with Gibbs-White possibly on the right in support of striker Chris Wood. Carlos Miguel, Morato, Neco Williams, Awoniyi, Dominguez, Jota Silva, Anthony Elanga, Ramon Sosa and Willy Boly will make up the bench.

Forest: Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Moreno; Yates, Ward-Prowse, Anderson; Gibbs-White, Wood, Hudson-Odoi. Subs: Miguel, Morato, Williams, Awoniyi, Dominguez, Jota, Elanga, Sosa, Boly.
