Cuiabano has teased a return to loan club Botafogo, according to a report in Brazil.
The left-back signed for Nottingham Forest in the summer but was immediately loaned back to Botafogo for the remainder of the Serie A season. He finished the campaign with 48 appearances, six goals and five assists in all competitions as Botafogo came sixth.
He is now due to come back to the City Ground where he will be assessed by Sean Dyche and his coaches, who are currently without Ola Aina, although Oleksandr Zinchenko has returned to fitness after a couple of months out.
Reports in Brazil say Botafogo are keen to have the 22-year-old back in their squad for 2026 and according to Globo Esporte, it seems the player himself is open to the idea.
They say Cuiabano posted on social media: “A year of much struggle, love for this jersey, and a feeling that this story doesn’t end here. Thank you for everything, Botafogo and the Glorioso fans.”
Neco Williams has been starting left back for the last couple of months and it is not known yet whether Forest will opt to retain Cuiabano or send him out again.
The working relationship between Forest and Botafogo would seem to make it his likely destination if he were to be loaned once more.
