Philadelphia Phillies probable pitchers & starting lineups vs Atlanta Braves, July 7

The Philadelphia Phillies (58-31) and Atlanta Braves (48-39) close out their series on Sunday at Truist Park after splitting the first two games. The rubber match will decide if the Phillies leave town with a 10.0- or 8.0-game lead in the division.

After putting up eight runs in Friday’s Apple TV+ series opener, the bats couldn’t muster much of anything on Saturday night against Braves rookie Spencer Schwellenbach, dropping a 5-1 decision. Phillies starter Ranger Suárez stumbled again, giving up five runs on six hits over five innings and posting his second straight start allowing five or more runs.

Sunday’s finale pits Phillies rookie Michael Mercado against a Braves lineup that has started to show some pop recently. If Mercado can keep the Phils in this one, hopefully, the offense can give him some support.
