Nottingham Forest must use the loan market better this season after an abysmal time of things utilising it last season.
Several players were signed with the majority of them making little to zero impact on the Forest team.
In the summer, Andrey Santos signed and played just seven minutes of Premier League action before getting recalled by Chelsea.
The Reds also signed Divock Origi in the summer and he failed to find the net in the Premier League and has returned to AC Milan.
Two players who did at least make some impact were Gonzalo Montiel and Nuno Tavares.
The pair of full-backs did make some appearances in the team and now Tavares has shared what his future plans are.
Nuno Tavares shares what he plans to do this summer
Firstly, it has to be said that it feels unlikely that Tavares will be coming back to Forest after last season.
Although he did make 12 appearances in all competitions, he spent a lot of the campaign injured.
Now, Tavares has no future at Arsenal and he’s set to leave the club this summer.
In an interview with Ao Minuto, he said: “My priority is to return to Arsenal. Then, only the future will tell.
“Everyone knows that I have another year on my contract with Arsenal. I have people I trust taking care of my future.
“There have been some approaches, but I always leave it to whoever is in charge of taking care of my future.”
Forest can attract better than Tavares
At 24-years-old there is time on the side of Tavares and he will likely receive some good offers.
During the 2022/23 campaign, he scored six goals from left wing-back in 39 appearances and clearly there is a player in there.
Forest never really saw the best of him and that’s largely down to the fact that Steve Cooper barely played him at all.
Nuno Espirito Santo did give him a chance to shine and in some of the games he played, he looked like a useful player.
Tavares now seemingly has some offers on the table but it’s unlikely that Forest are going to be keen.
Ola Aina has signed for another year, whilst Harry Toffolo remains under contract for next season and is usually a reliable option too.
That said, it will still be fascinating to see where Tavares ends up next season.
