Striker Jonah Kusi-Asare is ‘stuck in a rut’ at Fulham, with Bayern Munich concerned they’ll no longer buy him permanently.
That’s according to Kicker. They cover the 18-year-old today and how his move to Fulham this summer isn’t working out.
They explain that Kusi-Asare was sent to Fulham after the arrival of Nicolas Jackson on loan. With a deal done for him, the youngster’s chances of first-team football this season ‘were slim’.
Thus, he was supposed to get playing time at Fulham. But this plan hasn’t worked out. At this point in the season, he’s accumulated fewer minutes than he had at Bayern. They had only used him as a late substitute in the 6-0 win against RB Leipzig.

Marco Silva has spoken publicly about the matter, offering little hope to the youngster. As far as he’s concerned, Kusi-Asare simply isn’t ready for first-team football at this stage of his development.
That’s led to questions being asked, like why Fulham didn’t already know that. Either way, it seems unlikely his situation will drastically change. And that means it’s unlikely that Silva’s side will activate the release clause they agreed. That’s despite already paying a €4m loan fee for the striker, a fee which helped Bayern recover the €3.5m they already paid to sign him.
The Germans believe the striker is ‘stuck in a rut’ at Fulham and his situation needs to be carefully considered. Playing time is seen as paramount and if he isn’t getting it at Fulham, change may be needed.
