The 2025/26 Premier League fixtures have been released for the upcoming season and it’s a mouthwatering return for top flight football in England.
Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have all discovered their opponents for the new campaign – with Arsenal and United being handed a nightmare start against each other. Liverpool, on the other hand, face a tough run-in if they are to defend their crown.
Arne Slot’s side will be the first team to get us rolling when the circus kicks off on Friday, 15 August as they welcome Bournemouth to Anfield. Before Newcastle United’s trip to Aston Villa marks the first midday kick-off of the season.
Saturday’s first round of 3pm clashes will see Brighton vs Fulham, Nottingham Forest vs Brentford, Sunderland vs West Ham and Tottenham vs Burnley. It means Sunderland fans won’t have to wait long for Premier League football to return.
The first Saturday night kick-off will see Wolves travel up north to the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City start their tilt at the Premier League title.
Super Sunday sees Crystal Palace make the short trip to Chelsea in the 2pm slot before United host Arsenal at 4:30pm. It all leads to the first Monday Night Football of the campaign as Leeds return to host Everton.
The Toffees will have to wait until the following weekend to give the Hill Dickinson stadium its first taste of Premier League football, when Brentford make the trip up at 3pm.
It doesn’t get any easier in the second matchday for the Arsenal, either, who face the tricky prospect of Leeds as Tottenham and City will renew their rivalry.
Mikel Arteta’s tough start to the season will also see them welcome City and travel to Newcastle in their opening six days.
However, Arsenal fans might not be able to look past matchday three – when they are slated to travel to Merseyside to face last season’s champions.
The final day of the season will see them travel to Crystal Palace after a home clash with Burnley.
Meanwhile for Liverpool, after they face Arsenal on matchday three, they have the first Merseyside derby of the season two weeks later – with their first trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium coming on 18 April 2026.
The Reds also face an early October trip to Old Trafford and welcome City in November – however, they have managed to avoid a game on Boxing Day and New Years’ Day this season. Instead, they welcome Leeds on December 30 and travel to Fulham on January 3.
Liverpool’s run-in starts with the second Merseyside derby of the season before they also clash with United, Chelsea and Aston Villa in their final four games.
After United welcome Arsenal they have their first big derby of the season on matchday four, as they face local rivals City at the Etihad.
The following week, Ruben Amorim’s side will welcome Chelsea – and a slow start to the season could pile the pressure on last season’s 15th placed finishers. The Red Devils also face tricky trips to Brentford and Liverpool before the end of October.
Amorim’s run-in consists of trips to Sunderland and Brighton and a home game with Nottingham Forest.
