The Baltimore Ravens had a surprise on their injury report Wednesday when quarterback Lamar Jackson popped up for having back and knee injuries. The report was released hours after head coach John Harbaugh said Jackson would miss practice due to a “rest day.”
“(Jackson has) been playing great, and we have a lot of football in front of us,” Harbaugh said via the Ravens’ website. “We have a game, a quick game, and another big game coming up, so that was warranted today.”
Jackson missed Thursday’s practice due to the injuries, seeming to undermine the idea that the two-time league MVP missed Wednesday’s practice to rest.
Jackson has been key to the Ravens’ offensive success this season. Baltimore is averaging scoring the second-most points per game in the league (30.3) after eight weeks. The former first-round pick has completed 66.9% of his passes for 2,099 yards, 17 touchdowns and two interceptions. He’s added 501 yards and nine touchdowns in the running attack.
On Friday, Jackson returned to practice, which was a good sign for his availability for the Ravens Week 9 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Per the Ravens final injury report released Friday afternoon, Baltimore revealed he has no injury designation for Sunday’s game.
Jackson was a full participant at practice on Friday.

The 5-3 Ravens are hosting the 5-3 Denver Broncos on Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium in a game that could decide AFC playoff seeding for January.
The Ravens are looking to get back on track a week after dropping an AFC North contest to the Cleveland Browns in Week 8. Baltimore currently trails the Pittsburgh Steelers by one game in the division.
