Ipswich Town won a Premier League for the first time in more than 22 years on Sunday when they caused a shock at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Tractor Boys had not picked up three points in England’s top flight since April 2002 when they beat Middlesbrough 1-0 – just under a fortnight before being relegated.
But they went toe to toe with Spurs and were 2-0 up by half-time.
Sammie Szmodics opened the scoring in the 31st minute with an overhead kick. Liam Delap then doubled the away side’s lead from ultra close range with a finish that narrowly spared Radu Dragusin from being credited with an own goal.
Rodrigo Bentancur found the net with a header from a corner to spark Spurs hope of a comeback but Ipswich held on for a famous win.
