Marco Silva responds to more questions about his Fulham future.
The club want head coach Silva to sign a new contract amid speculation that he could move elsewhere.
Silva admits there have been behind-the-scenes disagreements, but insists he and the Fulham hierarchy are “on the same page” and that he is committed to the club.
Marco Silva is maintaining a unified stance with Fulham’s leadership amid ongoing speculation about his future at Craven Cottage. Since joining in 2021, Silva has guided Fulham back to the Premier League and secured mid-table finishes. However, this season has been challenging, with the team currently sitting 15th, just a point above relegation. Despite this, Silva has been offered a contract extension as his current deal ends this season.
Silva’s tenure at Fulham has seen him manage 125 Premier League matches, winning 46 and drawing 26, with an average of 1.31 points per game. His frustrations were evident before the season began due to limited transfer activity. The club added four new players, but only one was a permanent signing, and most deals were completed late. This lack of early business has been a point of contention for Silva.
The club might need to explore the January transfer market after Silva confirmed that striker Rodrigo Muniz will be sidelined until February following surgery on a hamstring injury sustained against Everton. Muniz is crucial for Fulham, having scored 18 Premier League goals since joining in August 2021, second only to Raul Jimenez’s 20 goals for the club.
Silva remains calm despite interest from Saudi Arabia and Nottingham Forest after they dismissed Ange Postecoglou. He stated, “We have been on the same page. Of course, we don’t agree on everything—I think in your job you don’t agree on everything.” His relationship with the club’s hierarchy is described as honest and respectful.

When asked about targeting a striker in January, Silva said he isn’t ready to commit to that direction yet. The team previously relied on under-21 players when Muniz was injured. Silva mentioned they have different solutions with other players and wingers available.
Silva acknowledged that while not everything aligns perfectly between him and the club’s management or fans’ expectations, it doesn’t affect their overall relationship or shared goals for progress. “It doesn’t mean that we don’t have a great relationship,” he affirmed.
As Fulham navigates these challenges, Silva’s leadership remains pivotal in steering the club through this difficult period while maintaining focus on long-term objectives.
