The Florida Panthers will look to claim its first-ever NHL title when they faceoff against the desperate Edmonton Oilers in Game 4 of the 2024 Stanley Cup Final at Rogers Place.
Visiting Florida struck for three goals in a 6:19 span of the second period to break open a tie game and held on for a 4-3 victory in Game 3 to take a commanding three games to none lead.
After Sam Reinhart opened the scoring with a redirection late in the first, Warren Foegele drew the Oilers even with breakaway goal early in the middle frame.
The Panthers forced Edmonton into a series of miscues that resulted in goals for Vladimir Tarasenko, Sam Bennett and Aleksander Barkov to build a comfy cushion before the Oilers got third period markers from Philip Broberg and Ryan McLeod, with Connor McDavid drawing assists on both, to pull within one before falling short of sending the game to overtime.
Sergei Bobrovksy made 32 stops, including a huge left pad save on McLeod with 4:13 remaining, to put the relentless Cats one win away from claiming hockey’s ultimate prize.
The Stanley Cup will be in the building tonight. We want it!
