And so, the Steelers’ offensive line carousel continues to spin.
After a chaotic decision to rotate Broderick Jones and Troy Fautanu at right tackle ended with Jones being benched following three penalties, the Steelers may be starting the Georgia product in Sunday’s home opener after all.
Fautanu suffered a “little tweak” in Friday’s practice, which led to Jones finishing the day as the team’s starting right tackle. Fautanu’s status for Sunday is unknown. But if he can’t go, it will be Jones that starts on the right side.

Fautanu suffered a sprained MCL in the preseason opener against the Houston Texans, which caused him to miss the rest of the preseason and Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons. It is unclear if the injury he sustained today is a reaggravation of the previous injury.
Should Jones be the starter, though, it is a chance at instant redemption after his worse game as a pro in Week 2, and a chance to work towards getting back in the starting lineup.
