Steve Kerr Endorses Kamala Harris For President While Quoting Steph Curry’s ‘Night, Night’

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made his support of Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris known in the best way possible–quoting the iconic line of the best player in a Warriors uniform.

“After the results are tallied [on election] night, in the words of the great Steph Curry, we can tell Donald Trump…night night!” Kerr told a cheering crowd at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, on Monday to kick off the 2024 Democratic National Convention.

The 58-year-old champion player and coach took the stage at the Chicago Bulls’ arena, where he won three championships with Michael Jordan and spoke about leadership and why he thinks Harris and running mate Tim Walz possess the “logic and expertise” that the country needs.

During his six-minute speech, Kerr also reminisced about his days playing with Jordan and his time leading the US Men’s Basketball team to a gold at the recently concluded Paris Olympics 2024. He compared the nation coming together to support Team USA and Americans uniting to vote for Harris and Walz.

“The joy, the compassion, and the commitment to our country that we saw at the Olympics is what Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have and what our country needs. Leadership. Real leadership,” Kerr told the crowd.

Kerr’s presence at the DNC comes just days after he steered Team USA to its fifth straight gold at the Olympics. Curry, who secured his first-ever Olympic medal, was instrumental in the win, having another remarkable performance.

Steve Kerr’s impressive career

Aside from winning his second gold Olympic medal as a Team USA coach and securing 4 NBA championships as the head coach of the Warriors, Kerr also had an impressive career as an NBA player.

The Lebanon-born athlete won five NBA championships in 15 seasons, from 1988 to 2003. He secured three titles with the Bulls alongside Jordan in the 1990s and two more with the San Antonio Spurs in 1999 and 2003.

Kerr also holds the record for the highest three-point shooting percentage in NBA history.
