Steve Kerr’s arrival in the Bay area turned the Golden State Warriors around forever.
Of course, Mark Jackson had already built the foundation of the dynasty and Stephen Curry was a rising star, but Kerr helped them fulfill their potential.
Kerr and Curry have built one of the strongest and most successful partnerships in NBA history, which is why it’s obviously great for them to work together with Team USA.
When asked about the importance of having his franchise star with USA Basketball, Kerr was as straightforward as per usual.
For starters, he talked about the obvious, which is that Curry is clearly familiar with some of the actions they run because they are the same actions they use with the Warriors (via Warriors on NBC Sports).

Nonetheless, more than that, he also talked about Curry’s importance as one of their leaders, adding that having him there makes communication better and easier.
As crazy as it may sound, Curry has never been to the Olympics.
He helped Team USA win two FIBA World Cups, and he’s a perfect 18-0 as a member of USA Basketball, but this will be his first time as an Olympian.
Curry is the ultimate competitor and someone who only finds joy and fun in winning, and he’s going to lead by example as his team tries to bounce back after a disappointing performance in the last World Cup.
Team USA is looking to get back to the mountaintop, and with players like him on the roster, there’s simply no room for excuses.
