Truthful Commanders Ready For ‘Full Circle Moment’ vs. Buccaneers

The Washington Commanders are playoff-bound and are riding the high of their last-second win over the Dallas Cowboys, but head coach Dan Quinn has already turned the page.

With the Commanders playoff seeding now locked in, Quinn’s team will be facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in what will be a rematch of the Week 1 encounter, one that the Buccaneers won easily 37-20.

For Quinn, on “Tell the Truth” Monday, he is ready for what he calls a cool full circle moment.

“We went through what’s next and beginning with Tampa,” Quinn said. “I thought full circle moments are definitely cool, and we started our season against Tampa, and now we get to begin our second season there as well. So it’s a great measuring stick, you go back and watch that game and see how much we’ve changed in that time because they got us good for sure and it didn’t even feel that close. So we got lots of work to do but we’re really pumped to get rolling for the week.”

In the Week 1 loss, the Commanders were held to just 299 total yards, with the Buccaneers getting out to a 37-14 lead in the fourth quarter.

But both sides are different entering this playoff clash, and the Commanders will be looking to establish the run game to help set the tone for a dominating display.

As we know, playoff football is a different beast. Armed with all the lessons from the season, the Commanders will be looking to play the role of spoiler and get the new regime’s first playoff win in Year 1 while extracting revenge for that Week 1 loss as well.
