Wednesday night’s game marked the first time Paul George faced his former team, the Los Angeles Clippers. And while the nine-time All-Star received a video tribute that welcomed him back to L.A., the Intuit Dome crowd, especially those at the infamous “Wall,” expressed their disapproval of the star player throughout the night. After the game, Clippers head coach Ty Lue commended the home crowd for trying to get under George’s skin and disrupt his game.
HOSTILE CROWD
According to Lue, the home crowd did what they could to throw the versatile wingman off his game. The game was bound to be emotional as it marked PG’s return to the city he represented for the last five seasons. PG shared pleasantries with former teammates like James Harden and some Clippers staffers.

However, as the ball tipped off, the crowd was all business, letting George know he was not welcome back in L.A.
Absolutely wild sign for Paul George in The Wall.

“It was great! They booed him, tried to get him out of his game, even though he didn’t miss too many shots. But now they can cheer for him tomorrow,” Lue remarked at the postgame presser.
PG was unfazed
After a rough first game for the Sixers against the Phoenix Suns the other night, the 6’8″ wingman bounced back against the Clippers. He was nearly immaculate from the field, going 7-of-9 from the field for 18 points. He also had seven rebounds, two assists, three steals, and a block in 24 minutes.
PG remained on a strict minutes restriction as he continues to regain full strength following a minor knee injury in the preseason.
