Wolves Strengthen Defence With Signing Of Cameroon International

Wolverhampton Wanderers have added a significant defensive option to their squad with the acquisition of Jackson Tchatchoua from Hellas Verona. The 23-year-old has joined on a five-year deal, marking Wolves’ fourth signing of the summer.

Wolves Add Much-Needed Defensive Reinforcement With Jackson Tchatchoua

Versatile And Pacey Addition

Tchatchoua, who primarily operates as a right-wing back but is equally as effective as a full back, is celebrated for his versatility. Wolves reportedly paid around £10 million. Notably, he recorded the fastest speed in Serie A last season, 21.6mph, showcasing the elite physical profile that Vítor Pereira values.

Tchatchoua steps into the void left by Nélson Semedo, who departed for Fenerbahçe at the end of his contract. His arrival will provide healthy competition for Ki-Jana Hoever, who has held the right-back spot throughout pre-season and the majority of the opening game against Manchester City.

A Dream Move Speaks Volumes

On joining Wolves, the defender reflected on the move:

“The Premier League is one of my dreams, the history of the club, the stadium, the fans, this convinced me”.

He also emphasised his own adaptability:

“I can play wing-back, I can play full-back, I will play the position the coach puts me on the pitch”.
