West Ham United secured a 1-1 draw at Fulham on Saturday after an excellent stoppage-time equaliser from substitute Danny Ings.
The Cottagers dominated proceedings at Craven Cottage and found themselves ahead after 24 minutes.
Summer arrival Emile Smith Rowe did well to keep Sasa Lukic’s ball in play before cutting it back to Raúl Jiménez who rifled home the opener.
The Hammers were much improved in the second-half after Julen Lopetegui made a few changes at the break.
However, it was Danny Ings who ultimately saved the day for West Ham as the substitute found the target after being brilliantly set up by Jarrod Bowen.
The East Londoners managed to steal a point at a difficult venue, which is a huge positive.
However, the performances of many of their stars were very concerning.
One of them was Tomas Soucek who provided an awful display at Craven Cottage today.
The 29-year-old, who joined the club on a permanent deal for £19 million, was a surprise inclusion in the team by Lopetegui but it was a decision that completely failed.
The midfielder played in an advanced midfield role but lasted only until the break when the manager replaced him with Lucas Paqueta.
His pass was cut out to gift Fulham possession in the lead-up to Gimenez’s goal.
The Czech Republic international had just 15 touches in the game and lost possession on six occasions.
He completed only 50 percent of his passes, won zero ground duels and made just one clearance.
On the back of this performance, he deserves to be axed from the first-team by Lopetegui.
