The Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees will meet in the 2024 World Series, with numerous superstars taking the field. These are two of the most storied franchises in all of sports and it will surely be a thrilling series.
Game 1 is scheduled for Friday at Dodger Stadium, so the Yankees haven’t traveled to Southern California quite yet. They spent Tuesday taking batting practice in the Bronx and before that, Aaron Judge sat down with reporters to discuss the matchup.
By no surprise, the AL MVP frontrunner was asked about Shohei Ohtani and made it clear — he is the best player in the big leagues.

“I think everything is obvious about him,” Judge said. “He hits for average, hits for power, the speed, you know doing what he did this year with the 50 stolen bases, it got talked about a lot but not enough. He’s an impressive athlete and the best player in the game.”
It’s hard to disagree. While Judge is a stud in his own right, Ohtani can truly do it all. In a season where he couldn’t pitch, the 30-year-old proceeded to hit .310 with 54 home runs and 59 stolen bases. He’s a lock to win NL MVP.
In the postseason, Ohtani is also tearing the cover off the baseball, slashing .286 with three bombs and 10 RBI. He batted .364 in the NLCS against the New York Mets, too.
The Yankees have their work cut out for them when it comes to limiting Ohtani’s production in the Fall Classic.
