The Washington Commanders have claimed wide receiver K.J. Osborn off waivers from the New England Patriots.
Osborn, a fifth-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2020, has played in 66 games with 34 starts. He has caught 165 career passes on 265 targets for 1,902 yards and 16 touchdowns. He has played in seven games this season with seven receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Osborn’s best season came in 2021, when he started nine games in 17 appearances with the Vikings. He caught 61% of his passes that season, accounting for 655 yards and seven touchdowns, ranking second on the team behind Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen.
A native of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Osborn played three seasons at SUNY Buffalo, where he had 96 catches for 1,490 yards and 12 touchdowns. He later enrolled at the University of Miami as a graduate transfer and led the team with 50 receptions for 547 yards with five scores.
