Jets Receive Massive Injury Update on Justin Fields

The New York Jets got hit with a concerning incident when starting quarterback Justin Fields had to be carted off the field with what appeared to be a significant injury.

Further tests revealed the signal caller suffered a dislocated toe, and Jets head coach Aaron Glenn made it sound as though Fields could be headed for a significant recovery.

Now, it appears that Fields has healed rather quickly, and the quarterback is back at practice in a big way.

According to multiple reports, Fields ia back on the field with his team, participating in 11-on-11 drills. Initially, it was revealed that he would only be able to participate in 7-on-7 drills until he healed.

Just days after Fields was reported to have suffered a dislocated toe, he was shown doing workouts that indicated he might not be as bad as previously thought. Now, it appears that he is ready to get back out there to lead the Jets’ offense completely.

This is massive news considering that his injury could have made things far more complicated for the Jets. Following the exodus of Aaron Rodgers, New York was quick to pounce on Fields, giving him a two-year, $40 million contract.

The contract was certainly warranted, as the young passer made an impression in 2024 as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fields was thrust into the starting role to start the 2024 season, as Russell Wilson suffered a calf injury that he had to recover from through training camp and the regular season. During that time, Fields led the Steelers to a 4-2 record.

Wilson would take over starting duties following that stretch, but Fields showcased that he can be a viable starter. He ended the 2024 season with 1,106 yards, five touchdowns, one interception, and 289 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.

Fields may have garnered a negative outlook from his time with the Chicago Bears, but his play in 2024 proved that he could start elsewhere.

The Steelers were reportedly going to choose between Fields and Wilson, though neither returned. Instead, Pittsburgh brought in Rodgers for his presumed final season in the NFL.

Now, Fields has a chance to lead this new era of Jets football, and it appears that he only suffered a minor injury that won’t keep him out for much time at all.
