Kieran McKenna issues blunt response to Rangers ‘talks’

Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna has dismissed claims he was in talks with Rangers.

The 39-year-old, who led Ipswich to the Premier League before their relegation, firmly denied any discussions regarding the managerial role at the Scottish club.

In a press conference, McKenna said: “There’s no shred of truth in that.”

This comes amidst swirling speculation about potential candidates for the job, including Steven Gerrard, Danny Rohl, and Kevin Muscat, with the former turning down the chance to return to his former club at the weekend.

Other names mentioned include former Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick and ex-Wolves manager Gary O’Neil.

Muscat is currently the favourite to take the position, with Rohl also in the running.

However, Rohl’s commitment to Shanghai Port remains a consideration, as the Australian is in the midst of a title fight with Shanghai Port.
