Anthony Joshua has now signed to fight Tyson Fury – and the rivals will clash in November assuming Joshua comes through a warm-up fight…
Tyson Fury had no words as he responded to Anthony Joshua finally agreeing a deal to fight him.
Joshua has agreed a multi-fight deal to return to the ring, beginning with a clash against unknown heavyweight Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia on July 25. Assuming Joshua emerges unscathed, he will take on Fury in November, likely at Wembley, with the fight to be shown by Netflix.
And Fury took to social media after the announcement and posted an eyes emoji in response. The 37-year-old is recovering after his own comeback fight against Arslanbek Makhmudov two weeks ago, which Fury won on points. The former Olympic champion had demanded Joshua join him in the Tottenham ring after the fight, but his rival refused.
Fury insisted he had already signed to fight Joshua, with whom he has been on a decade-long collision course. But Joshua had yet to put pen to paper but has now done so, saying: “It’s no secret I’ve taken some time to consolidate and rebuild to be ready for stepping back into the ring and today is the next step on that journey.I’m delighted to have agreed a multi-fight deal starting with July 25 in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I’m looking forward to competing and picking up where I left off. As I said, the landlord will collect his rent, that is certain.”
