Jarrod Bowen urged to reject summer transfer as Liverpool speculation fades

Jarrod Bowen has received backing to remain at West Ham amid speculation linking him with Everton, among other clubs.

The forward secured the Conference League title under David Moyes, who brought him into the Premier League while in charge at the Hammers, making a potential reunion at Everton a hot topic following West Ham’s relegation to the Championship.

Moyes is now in charge of Everton. Liverpool has also been linked to Bowen, who turns 30 in December, in recent months, though speculation about a move to Anfield has cooled. Whether West Ham will be prepared to let him go is yet to be determined.

For former Premier League winger Robert Snodgrass, Bowen ought to remain put.

Snodgrass, who represented West Ham and Aston Villa — another one of the clubs keen on Bowen — told talkSPORT BET Sportsbook: “Jarrod Bowen to Aston Villa or Everton? I think he did really well last season despite where West Ham finished.

“He has been the main man, and his numbers have been really good for the last three years.

“If I’m Jarrod, I’m staying at West Ham. He is the captain, and he is loved there. Signing a longer-term deal would show massive loyalty and togetherness.

“If they keep him and make the right signings, it shows a massive intent to go straight back up.”

Taking to Instagram after West Ham’s relegation, Bowen wrote: “It’s hard to post something like this when all you’re feeling is embarrassment and pain.

“I could write loads trying to explain where it all went wrong this season, but honestly, what you deserve from me is an apology.”

Bowen added: “We just weren’t good enough. Simple as that. And that’s why the season ended the way it did. To the fans, you didn’t let us down once.

“The support home and away never changed, even when things weren’t good enough from us on the pitch.

“We should have given you more. You deserved more. One thing I know about this club is that it has the desire and fight to bounce back from this.

“This club belongs in the Premier League and deserves to be back there as soon as possible.”
