Lewis Hall update after the Newcastle United defender missed England training earlier this week.
Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall has trained with England ahead of their UEFA Nations League opener against Spain.
The 22-year-old linked up with Thomas Tuchel’s squad earlier this week, just days after scoring the winning goal in Newcastle United’s 2-1 victory over Hull City last Saturday.
Joe Willock and Hall both found the net inside the opening seven minutes at St James’ Park before Hull pulled one back midway through the second half. The Magpies then nervously held on to secure their second Premier League win of the campaign.
Matthias Jaissle’s side did so despite being without seven outfield players, with Amar Dedic, Tino Livramento, Nico Gonzalez, Jacob Ramsey, Joelinton, Anthony Elanga and Will Osula all missing through injury.
Fears then arose that Hall had joined that lengthy injury list when it emerged that the left-back had sat out England’s training session on Wednesday afternoon.
“23 players are out training at St. George’s Park this afternoon,” England’s official X account said. “Lewis Hall sits out this session while the group are joined by U19s Kaden Braithwaite and Malachi Hardy.”
However, those concerns have quickly been put to bed, with Hall pictured back in training ahead of England’s meeting with Spain at Wembley tonight.
Lewis Hall update after injury fears
Newcastle United shared a photo of the defender involved in the session on their official X account, suggesting there is no immediate concern over his fitness.

His Newcastle teammate Tino Livramento was also called-up to the squad but was forced to withdraw due to injury. His withdrawal was confirmed in an FA statement released earlier this week.
