Steelers Among Favorites to Trade for $90 Million Star Wide Receiver

The Pittsburgh Steelers are 3-2 on the season with narrow losses the past two weeks against the Indianapolis Colts on the road and the Dallas Cowboys at home.

Pittsburgh’s defense has been spectacular and its offense competent. However, the one clear element missing from the offensive unit is an explosive downfield threat.

According to odds calculated by Sportsbet.ag late last week, the Steelers have a solid chance to land the exact type of player they need ahead of the NFL’s November 5 trade deadline.

Pittsburgh is +600 to deal for Miami Dolphins star receiver Tyreek Hill. The Kansas City Chiefs have the best odds at +300, followed by the Baltimore Ravens at +400.

The Dolphins are 2-3 on the year and are currently without starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The results have been catastrophic for the offense, which has scored a total of 30 points over the last three games without Tagovailoa, and for Hill specifically.

Hill, who is currently playing on a three-year contract worth $90 million total that runs through 2026, has seen his numbers tank in Tagovailoa’s absence.

In Tagovailoa’s one full game this year, Hill caught 7 passes for 130 yards and a TD. In the four contests since, he has a total of 16 receptions for 156 yards and zero scores, per ESPN.

Hill’s struggles have led to speculation among national pundits that the wideout might want out of Miami, particularly due to his age (30) and the uncertainty surrounding Tagovailoa’s long-term health after three confirmed concussions over the course of his career.

As far as the organization goes, the Dolphins could consider changes to their expensive offensive corps if Hill grows truly unhappy and/or if Tagovailoa’s future remains a serious question mark.

The Steelers were in on trade talks for Brandon Aiyuk of the San Francisco 49ers during the preseason and have also been mentioned as prominent contenders for wideout Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders, who has requested a trade and is expected to get one at some point over the next month.
