Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade Could Happen This Week As Celtics, Heat Rumors Grow

Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to be the biggest NBA superstar to get moved this offseason, and the Boston Celtics are one of the teams linked to him in rumors.

The Miami Heat are the other team being heavily linked to Antetokounmpo in reports and rumors. Trade rumors around Antetokounmpo have been prevalent since last year, and the saga could come to an end this week. Last month, Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Jimmy Haslam noted that getting the Antetokounmpo situation resolved by the start of the NBA Draft would be ideal.

“I just think before the draft is a natural time, right, because if Giannis does play somewhere else we ought to get a lot of assets,” Haslam said, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Jim Owczarski. “And that’s (general manager) Jon (Horst’s) job to do. And if he’s here, you build the team differently.”

Well, the NBA Draft starts a week from Tuesday, and the most recent reports suggest that the Bucks have some offers on the table. The Celtics have reportedly made an offer and could end up landing him soon. It makes sense that all parties involved would want this figured out before the NBA Draft.

No team wants to go into the draft not knowing what their needs are, and needs would drastically change if Antetokounmpo were to be acquired. The Celtics and Heat seem like the frontrunners at this point, and fans should keep an eye out for a trade to go down in the next seven days.
