Nottingham Forest register interest in Wolves midfielder

Wolves are set to make changes to their squad following relegation from the Premier League. Wanderers finished 20th in the Premier League last season, and are looking to return to the top-flight at the first time of asking.

Midfielder Marshall Munetsi only featured 13 times for Wolves in their last campaign, spending the second half of the season on loan at Paris FC.

Now, as the Zimbwabwe international returns to England, French outlet Jeunes Footeux reports that there is no shortage of interest. Munetsi, valued at €15m, was a big hit with Paris FC, but his valuation is considered too high to strike a permanent deal.

As a result, Nottingham Forest have held discussions with Munetsi’s representatives in recent weeks. Saudi Arabian and Qatari clubs have also made enquiries for the player.

A Marshall Munetsi exit may await at Wolves

Munetsi joined Wolves in the winter of 2025, but has struggled to live up to expectations at Molineux. Rob Edwards joined the club after Vitor Pereira’s too, with the boss preferring other options, resulting in the winter loan exit.

An exit for the 29-year-old would generate funds that can be reinvested into the playing squad. The club have signed Kieran Trippier and are looking to sign Raul Jimenez, with both players set to be on notable wages.

Wolves have also secured the futures of Matheus Mane and Andre.

Andre has signed a new contract, and Mane has stated that he will remain with the side. Their roles will further impact Munetsi’s minutes, and off the back of a strong loan, he will feel he can find more regular game time.

Central midfield can be a strength for Wolves next season

Moves for Jimenez and Trippier offer notable experience and quality for Wolves. However, their midfield can be a standout asset for the side next season.

After breaking into the squad last season, Mane is an exciting asset for Wanderers. The youngster showed flashes of quality with his fearless skill and dribbling against Premier League opposition, and with a full season of first-team football on the horizon, Mane should excel with further experience.

Andre meanwhile has been tested in matches against top opposition, still at a youthful age himself. The Brazilian has obtained interest from other clubs himself, so retaining his services serves as a real boost for Wolves.

Edwards’ side also retain further exciting options from the bench including Rodrigo Gomes. In central midfield, Wolves boast some youthful players with the potential to flourish next season as they look to rebuild after their nightmare Premier League relegation campaign.
