Every Tottenham stat that proves why Fulham need to be careful with Thomas Frank after manager update

Ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank could soon be back in the Premier League.

Spurs narrowly avoided relegation last season after the Dane, as Roberto De Zerbi came in to save the day.

They decided to sack Frank in February following a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United, which left them in 16th place, five points above the drop zone.

Though De Zerbi managed to keep the N17 side up, Frank’s damage has arguably left them in a state of regression.

The former Brentford boss has been loosely linked to several jobs since leaving the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but may be closer than ever to landing a new role in the Premier League.

Fulham boss Alvaro Arbeloa is on the brink of being sacked, with Frank now in the frame to land his first gig since being sacked by Tottenham.

The Tottenham data that proves why Fulham should steer clear of Thomas Frank

According to an update from talkSPORT this Tuesday, Frank is a leading contender to land the Fulham job if Arbeloa is sacked.

The former Real Madrid player and coach is at risk of losing his job if the Cottagers fail to beat Hull City next time out in the Premier League, having failed to win any of his first six league games in charge.

Frank won just two of his final 17 league matches in charge of Spurs, and had a 26.9 per cent win ratio in the Premier League at the time of his sacking.

They had failed to win in eight straight Premier League matches, and it wasn’t until two managers and seven games after his dismissal that they picked up another league victory.

The 53-year-old is now in N17 history books for having the worst win ratio of any permanent Tottenham manager with 34.2 per cent, having won 13, drawn 11 and lost 14 games in charge of the club.

As per BBC Sport, his 1.12 points per game in the Premier League is the lowest of all managers since Mauricio Pochettino’s tenure.

If Fulham fans thought Ange Postecoglou did bad for Spurs in the Premier League, just wait until they hear how the Aussie had a 14 per cent improved win record over Frank in the top flight.

To put into context just how bad Spurs’ attack was last season, especially under Frank, Richarlison finished as the top scorer with 12 goals.

The striker is now not even registered for the club under De Zerbi, who does not believe that the Brazilian is good enough.

But it’s not just about what Tottenham fans saw on the pitch; it’s what they heard off the pitch.

What Fulham fans can expect from Frank’s personality

Arbeloa has already come under fire from the Craven Cottage faithful for his attitude since joining the London club in the summer.

Well, they can’t expect things to be any different if Frank is appointed.

During his first press conference as Spurs boss, the Dane said: “One thing is 100 per cent sure: we will lose football matches.”

That was perhaps the only promise that he kept in N17.

Frank did nothing but patronise Spurs fans, failing to read the room week upon week, despite the growing tension at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The message from the Tottenham end would be clear for Fulham: stay away.
