Fulham have agreed to sell Morocco’s 2026 World Cup star Issa Diop to Ipswich Town in a deal worth around £8.5 million (€10 million), a move that could accelerate the Premier League club’s search for a replacement at the heart of their defence amid continued links with Super Eagles centre-back Chibuike Nwaiwu.
According to Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Ipswich have reached an agreement with Fulham for the transfer of the 29-year-old Morocco international, who scored against the Netherlands at the 2026 World Cup and helped his country keep two clean sheets during the tournament.
The deal is now expected to pave the way for Diop’s departure from Craven Cottage.
Fulham have been credited with an interest in Nwaiwu following his impressive rise since joining Turkish giants Trabzonspor.
The Nigerian defender has emerged as one of the club’s standout performers after completing his move from Austrian side Wolfsberger AC earlier this year.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in Turkey, quickly establishing himself as a key figure in Trabzonspor’s defence.
His performances have also caught the attention of Nigeria coach Eric Chelle, earning him a Super Eagles call-up as his reputation continues to grow.
