Fulham ace Josh King has praised Alex Iwobi after the Nigerian midfielder scored from the penalty spot in their pre-season victory over Farense to end the preseason camp in Portugal.
The Nigeria international converted from the penalty spot in the second half to restore parity for Fulham after Farense had taken the lead before the break.
The former Arsenal midfielder showed great composure to calmly send the goalkeeper the wrong way with a well-taken spot-kick, bringing the Cottagers level.
Speaking after the match, King praised Iwobi’s penalty, describing it as an excellent finish, and expressed hope that the Super Eagles star continues converting penalties and adds more goals during the upcoming campaign.
“Very good. Alex Iwobi is behind the cameras. It is a great penalty and hopefully he stays on penalties and gets a few more goals,” King told the club’s website.
The youngster also hailed his on-field partnership with Iwobi, saying he has enjoyed combining with the Nigerian in pre-season and hopes they can carry their understanding into the 2026/27 season.
“It’s been nice to play with him and combine and stuff and hopefully we take it into the season,” he added.
Ahead of the 2026/27 season, Iwobi will be eager to carry his impressive pre-season form into the new campaign as Fulham prepare to begin their Premier League season against Chelsea.
