Former Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton believes Unai Emery could get even more out of Jarrod Bowen should the West Ham star make the move this summer.
Villa hold a strong interest in the 29-year-old following the Hammers’ relegation to the Championship last season.
Bowen still has four years remaining on his contract, and West Ham are also expected to sell both Matheus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville this summer. Those departures would generate significant funds for the club.
It has been reported that West Ham would demand around £50 million for Bowen in this transfer window, given the important role he would play in helping the club secure an immediate return to the Premier League.
A West Ham legend, Bowen has reached double figures for goals in all competitions in each of the last five seasons. However, Hutton believes the forward could take his game to another level under Emery.
“I think Jarrod Bowen would be a good addition to Aston Villa,” Alan Hutton told PariuriX.com.
“He has been very loyal to West Ham, and he has been their captain as well. You can see how much the club means to him, and I think people really like that
“He is not just a quality player; he also works really hard. He shows that week in, week out. I think Aston Villa would be able to get even more out of him.
“He would have good players around him, and he could be even better than what he already is.
“Aston Villa do heavily rely on certain players, so to have other options like him would be good. He would definitely improve the squad if he was to come.”
