Marco Silva already loves one Chelsea player amid rumours he could take over from Liam Rosenior

Marco Silva has been linked with taking over at Chelsea if they part ways with Liam Rosenior, and he has already made his admiration for experienced defender Tosin Adarabioyo clear to see.

Liam Rosenior’s status as Chelsea manager is now under serious threat after the 3-0 defeat to Brighton which essentially put an end to the club’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

Rosenior even reportedly said goodbye to the Chelsea players after their most recent loss, with the club weighing up their options ahead of the FA Cup semi-final against Leeds United.

Chelsea-linked Marco Silva is a huge fan of Tosin Adarabioyo

Marco Silva has been linked with the job, with his Fulham contract set to expire at the end of the season and there are no signs of a renewal.

If he was to be brought in, this would likely be good news for current defender Tosin Adarabioyo, who featured under him in the past at Craven Cottage.
Back in 2024, Silva waxed lyrical about his former player, telling Beanyman Sports:

“He was so important in three seasons with us. I think he did improve really and it’s nice to see him. It’s going to be nice to see him there of course during the game, he’s going to try to win, we’re going to try to win as well.

“But [he] was a good professional, a good lad, always open to learn and a quality player and because he’s a quality a player is the reason why he’s playing for Chelsea and doing so well, that’s it, it’s going to be a good thing.”

Tosin played 98 games under Silva at Fulham, scoring five goals, the same amount he managed under Enzo Maresca’s tenure.

Tosin’s Chelsea fortunes could be about to change

Things are currently not going well for Tosin at Stamford Bridge. He was recently booed by his own fans after he was brought on to face PSG.

Chelsea have been described as open to selling Tosin after he has proven to not be a regular in the first team squad since joining.

This could of course change if a new manager comes into the club, especially one who has such an admiration for him from their time working together.
